Hi, I’m Brad.
I’m glad you’re here.
I’m a cruise enthusiast, video creator, and someone who still gets excited about stepping onto a ship.
I’ve been cruising since childhood. These days, I bring a camera along and share the things I’d want to know myself: what a ship feels like, what surprised me, and whether the extras were actually worth it.
My story
The excitement
hasn’t worn off.
More than 35 years after I started cruising, there’s still something special about the beginning of a trip. A different ship to explore, a new view from the deck, and a week that feels a little different from life at home.
My travels have taken me from the Caribbean and Mexico to Alaska and Norway. I enjoy discovering how different each trip can be, even when the destination or cruise line is familiar.
I’m based in the Midwest, but this little corner of the internet is where I get to share my time at sea. If you enjoy seeing what a cruise is really like, including the parts that don’t go quite as expected, you’re in the right place.

My kind of vacation.
I like a mix of time to unwind and something new to try. A few things you’ll probably notice if you watch my videos:
I’ve become a sea-day person.
I enjoy having time to settle into a ship. I also like boarding early. That first afternoon is part of the vacation, and I want to enjoy it.
I like getting out and exploring.
A scenic walk, a bike ride, a zip line, or somewhere with a story to tell usually catches my attention more than spending the whole day on a beach.
I enjoy going solo, too.
Some trips are shared, and others are just me. Solo cruising brings a different rhythm, and I enjoy sharing what that experience is actually like.
Why I share it

and an honest opinion.
I started Brad On Board to share a practical, personal look at cruising. Vacations take time and money, and I know how much it helps to hear from someone who has actually been there.
I like letting the footage tell part of the story. You’ll see the cabins, decks, food, and destinations, alongside my thoughts about what worked for me and what didn’t.
My favorite cruise might not be yours, and that’s okay. I hope the videos and articles help you figure out what you’d enjoy, or simply give you a little escape until your next trip.
