Hideaway Beach CocoCay: Is It Worth The Extra Money?
Hideaway Beach is Royal Caribbean’s adults-only private beach area at Perfect Day at CocoCay. There are no kids, dedicated food options, a heated pool, beachfront loungers, bars, and a more resort-style setup.
But it also costs extra.
We paid about $55 per person for our visit, but pricing can vary a lot by sailing. I’ve seen it listed anywhere from around $35 to $90 or more, depending on demand and cruise date. So the real question is simple: is Hideaway Beach actually worth paying for, or are you better off sticking with the free areas of CocoCay?
I also made a full video review, which is worth watching if you want to see the pool, beach, food, crowd levels, and overall vibe for yourself.

Quick Verdict: Is Hideaway Beach Worth It?
For the right cruiser and the right price, yes, I think Hideaway Beach can be worth it.
It delivers what it promises: an adults-only area, a heated pool, beach access, included food, fewer kids, and a more energetic beach-club atmosphere. At the $55 price we paid, I felt like it made sense.
But this is not a quiet escape. The music is a big part of the experience, and even at the far end of the beach, you are still aware of it. If you want a peaceful, low-energy beach day, this may not be the best fit.
Getting to Hideaway Beach
After walking down the pier at CocoCay, you can either walk to Hideaway Beach or take the tram.
The walk takes about 10 minutes, but most people will probably take the tram. It picks you up near the end of the pier and drops you close to the entrance.
Once you arrive, the vibe shifts pretty quickly. Hideaway Beach feels different from the rest of CocoCay. It has louder music, a more social atmosphere, and a day-club-meets-beach-resort kind of feel.
If you are expecting a quiet, romantic adults-only retreat, that is not really what this is.
On the Rocks Bar and First Impressions
For many visitors, the first stop will be On the Rocks Bar.
This is a covered space with bar games, lounge seating, and live music. It works as a transition point between the entrance and the main beach club area.
From there, you move into the main resort-style space, where the pool and beach become the center of the day.
The Pool Is the Main Social Hub
Hideaway Beach has a large heated pool wrapped around a swim-up bar, and this is where the personality of the space really comes through.
There is a DJ, music, dancing, drinks, and a lot of people having a good time. The swim-up bar can get busy, but there is also service inside the covered pavilion if you do not want to be in the pool.
This is not a quiet retreat. The music is going most of the day, and the pool is the social hub.
If you like the idea of a more relaxed version of a Vegas pool party with ocean views, this will probably be your vibe. If that sentence makes you tired, Hideaway Beach may not be for you.
The Beach Is Still a Highlight
Outside of the pool, the beach itself is one of the best parts of Hideaway Beach.
The sand is soft, the water is clear, and there are plenty of loungers and umbrellas. On our visit, even with two mega ships in port, the beach area did not feel overcrowded.
That was a big contrast to some of the free areas of CocoCay, which can get busier.
The adults-only part also matters. You will not see kids running around, splash zones, or family chaos. It is just adults enjoying the space.
My tip: if you want a quieter experience, walk all the way to the far end of the beach. The music is still there, but it is less intense, and we found more open chairs in that area.
What Food Is Included at Hideaway Beach?
Food is included with your Hideaway Beach admission, and there are two main places to eat.
The Hideaway Hut serves sandwiches, salads, sides, and snacks. We tried coconut shrimp with fries, mozzarella sticks, a crispy fish sandwich, and a Greek salad.
I was surprised by how good most of it was. The Greek salad was especially good if you want something a little lighter.
There are also sweet options, including ice cream and funnel cake.
A little farther down is Slice of Paradise, which serves pizza and empanadas. The pizza was not my favorite, and I actually think the pizza back on the ship may be better.
Overall, though, the food quality outside of the pizza was solid. Service was quick, and the food felt like a step up from the standard snack shacks around CocoCay.
Drinks and Bars
There are several bars and beverage stations around Hideaway Beach, so getting a drink is easy.
Drinks are not included with Hideaway Beach admission, but if you have a Royal Caribbean drink package, it should work here. As always, check the current policy for your sailing before assuming anything, especially because package rules can change.
The pool bar is the most obvious place to grab a drink, but it can get busy. If you do not want to wait at the swim-up bar, look for one of the other bar locations nearby.
Are the Cabanas Worth It?
There are cabanas around the perimeter, both near the pool and closer to the beach.
They offer shade, privacy, comfortable seating, and dedicated service. Many also include semi-private swim areas, which can make the day feel more exclusive.
But the pricing can run high.
If you are traveling with a group, or if you know you want a guaranteed home base for the day, a cabana might make sense. But for most people, I thought the standard seating throughout Hideaway Beach was good enough.
I do not think a cabana is a must unless you really value the private space and are comfortable with the price.
Who Is Hideaway Beach Best For?
Hideaway Beach makes the most sense if you want:
An adults-only CocoCay experience
A social, upbeat atmosphere
A heated pool with a swim-up bar
Better food than the standard free beach areas
Fewer kids and fewer family crowds
A more premium beach club feel
This is a good option for adults who want energy, music, drinks, pool time, and a more controlled beach environment.
Who Should Skip Hideaway Beach?
You may want to skip Hideaway Beach if you prefer quiet, low-energy beach days.
The music is a major part of the experience, and this is not designed to be a peaceful hidden retreat. Even the quieter beach areas still have that beach club soundtrack in the background.
You may also want to skip it if you are happy with the free areas at CocoCay or if you are trying to keep your cruise costs down.
This is a premium vibe choice. It is not a must-do for everyone.
Final Verdict: Would I Pay for Hideaway Beach Again?
At the price we paid, about $55 per person, I thought Hideaway Beach was worth it.
The adults-only setup, heated pool, upgraded food, beach space, and fun atmosphere all delivered on what Royal Caribbean is selling here.
But I would not pay any price for it.
If the cost is closer to $35 to $60, and you like the upbeat adults-only vibe, I think it can be a good value. If the price is pushing toward $90 or more, I would think harder about whether you really need it, especially when CocoCay already has great free beaches and pools.
For me, Hideaway Beach is worth it if you want energy, music, good food, and an adults-only space. If you want quiet relaxation, I’d look elsewhere on the island.
